General Information

COMMON NAMES: Angel-wing Begonia, Cane Begonia, Cane-stem Begonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental ((Leaf/Flower))

KEY FEATURES: Shrub with ascending branches to 1m. LEAVES green with dark-centred silvery spots, purplish-red below; obliquely oval tappering to the tip, to 30x12c; irregular teeth. FLOWERS large pendulous cluster, bright red. A rather similar plant has leaves smaller (to 17x5) with smooth edges
