COMMON NAMES: Friendship Plant, Queen's Tears, Indoor Oats

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE s.Brazil - n.Argentina

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: A stemless herb to 40cm with a rosette of 12-15 narrow, ascending, silvery-bronze leaves, 40x1cm. FLOWERS a drooping simple-cluster on an arching flower-stalk; bracts slender, rose; FLOWER 5cm long, sepals rose with blue margin, petals green with blue margin. Variety nutans leaves toothed, petals tipped green.
