General Information

COMMON NAMES: Australian Bluestem Grass, Lautoka Grass

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Indochina - Malaysia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group only (Rarotonga only); Land, lowlands

KEY FEATURES: Perennial grass to 1m. LEAVES wiouth hairs, to 35x1cm. PANICLE to 15cm; branches whorled, to 6cm, slender; rachis joint hairy. SPIKELET sterile one 2.5mm with hairy margins; fertile lemma with slender awn to 1cm.
