Citrus reticulata Blanco
SYNONYMS: Citrus nobilis [sensu GW]; Citrus deliciosa
TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ROSIDAE; Sapindales; RUTACEAE
SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Food (Fruit 4+). Comments: Exported to New Zealand (Wilder 1931). The maori name, ‘Anani Papa‘ā literally means "European orange" (Whistler 1990).
GENERAL NOTE: FrithaQ: not quite sure how to approach this more or less familiar plant. do the fruit ripen very orange here? are the branches thorny? (-Tropica suggests that the suckers are thorny but the flowering branches are not). I wrote a bit on the flower b/c I assumed people are familiar with the fruit, this may be inappropriate though...
