TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); LILIOPSIDA (=Monocotyledones); ZINGIBERIDAE; Zingiberales; COSTACEAE
GENERAL NOTE: The common name refers to the texture of the floral tube, which appears minutely wrinkled as if crumpled up and then released.
