General Information

COMMON NAMES: Three-flowered Beggarweed

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Old World tropics; EXOTIC EXOTIC circumtropical

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group only; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Lawn, Manure; Weed - minor

KEY FEATURES: Prostrate herb forming dense mats; stems to 50cm. LEAVES trifoliolate; LEAFLETS wide-obovate to obcordate, 1x1cm, tip w/wo notch. FLOWERS axial, 1-3(-5); corolla pink to purplish, 4mm long. FRUIT flat pod with hooked hairs, to 15x3mm(LxW), indented 30% into c.3-5 sections.
