General Information

COMMON NAMES: Striped Dracaena, Striped Pleomele, Jenny Craig Dracaena

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental leaves

KEY FEATURES: A branching shrub to 4m with terminal clusters of long leaves with one or two central white stripes or two marginal white stripes. LEAVES linear, 70x5cm, dark green, with one or two white stripes; without petioles. FLOWERS cylindrical cluster; perianth tube dark red, white inside. cv 'Warneckii Roehrs Gold' pale green central panel outlined with fine white stripes. Ther are serveral other cultivars.
