General Information

COMMON NAMES: Polynesian Dryopteris Fern

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Cooks (Rarotonga), Marquesas

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of se.Polynesia; Land, mountains (+)

KEY FEATURES: Upright, arching fern to 50cm. FRONDS arching, to 60cm; deep glossy green; stalk (=stipe) with scales large and dark brown, strong at base decreasing upward.
