COMMON NAMES: Devil's Ivy, Taro Vine, Pothos, Golden Pothos

TRADITIONAL NAMES: ‘Ara (MK); Other Polynesian - Lau Mai‘a / Fue Lau Fao (SAM); COMMENT: Mauke: Ara meaning 'sin'/Devil.

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE parent species: se.Asia - Malesia - Solomons - Fiji

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands - mountains (++) (mid-elev.)

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental leaves; Weed - moderate, Invasive in natural habitats - moderate (serious in Niue)

KEY FEATURES: High-climber with large leaves. cv 'Aureum': LEAVES large, green with yellow markings, margin torn; FLOWERS never (or very rarely).
