General Information

COMMON NAMES: Lemon-scented Gum; German Eucalyptusbaume

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE ne.Australia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands - mountains (+)

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Forestry, post/rail

KEY FEATURES: Tall evergreen tree to 40m. BARK mottled, smooth, peeling as thin scales or patches to show powdery whitish or bluish layer. ADULT LEAVES alternate, narrow lance-like, 20x3cm, both surfaces light green; stalk 2cm. FLOWERS terminal clusters of 3-5. FRUIT ovoid to urn-like, 15x10mm, operulum hemispherical with small tip.
