General Information

COMMON NAMES: Sydney Blue-Gum, Flooded Gum, Saligna Gum; German Eucalyptusbaume

TRADITIONAL NAMES: Puru Kamu [?species] (MK)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE se.Australia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands - mountains (+)

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Forestry, post/rail

KEY FEATURES: Very tall evergreen to 60m. BARK dull bluish or greenish-grey, smooth, peeling slightly to expose yellow layer. ADULT LEAVES alternate, lance-like, to 20x3cm, often curved, green above and pale green below; stalk 2cm.. FLOWERS axil clusters of 5-10. FRUIT cylindrical to conical, 7x7mm.
