COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Food Cond, Material (Ei?)

KEY FEATURES: Stout herb to 1m. STEM round, green with numerous fine pale stripes. LEAVES very finely subdivided. FLOWERS yellow, very small (2mmØ), in numerous clusters of ±30 clustered on stalks to 6cm. FRUITS oval and flat with pale rim.

SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Food Cond, Material (Ei?). Comments: Leaves used as potherb, and fruits as flavouring.

IDENTIFICATION: Stout aromatic herb to 1.5m. STEM round, soft and hollow, green with fine pale stripes. LEAVES alternate, compound, basal ones to 30x15cm, divided pinnately 1-2x; leaflets filamentous, to 40x1mm; leaf-stalk sheathing, to 12cm. FLOWERS terminal radiating cluster of stalks (peduncles) to 6cm, each with about 30 small yellow flowers (to 2mmØ) on stalks (pedicels) to 1cm. FRUIT oval, 4x2mm, semi-flat, ridges not winged. SEEDS 2, flat.
