General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE ne.Australia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Tree to 30m. LEAVES fernlike to 30cm, dark green, lateral lobes (usually 10-20) dissected into ascending sublobes [=bipinnatifid], margins smooth and recurved; underside often with whitish silk. FLOWERS many forming one-sided bottlebrush to 12cm, orange to yellow; style prominent, to 2cm. FRUIT boat-shaped follicle, to 1.5cm.
