SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
BIODIVERSITY: Globally endangered (seriously). Comment: A moderate number of plants close to streams in the southeast valleys of Rarotonga.

GENERAL NOTE: Closely related to other Pacific island species, especially Habenaria tahitensis from Tahiti and Habenaria superflua from Fiji [Sykes, pers.comm. 5/2001].
