GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE n.S.Amer.

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Coarse herb to ??? LF long narrow stem with banana-like blade, to 2.5m, mid-rib US uniform, FLOWERS erect cluster of alt. boat-like bracts (10cm) in one plane, each red with yellow lip, lowest has green US.
