GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE ? - Cooks - Tahiti; s. to NZ

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - Rarotonga only (rare); Land, mountains (+), Cloud Zone

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Nationally endangered (critically)

KEY FEATURES: Root long-creeping, covered with reddish hairs. FROND covered with slightly sticky hairs. FROND-STALK to 100cm, brown, hairy. FROND-BLADE to 100cm, 4-5x divided; terminal leaflets lance-like, toothed. SORI sub-marginal covered by reflexed green flap.

SIMILAR SPECIES: See Hypolepis tenuifolia.
