GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Asia - Polynesia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Land, mountains (+)

KEY FEATURES: Root long-creeping, covered with reddish hairs. FROND covered with slightly sticky hairs. FROND-STALK to 60cm, brown, hairy. FROND-BLADE to 100cm, 4x divided; terminal leaflets lance-like, toothed. SORI sub-marginal covered by reflexed brown scale-like flap.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Hypolepis dicksonioides is Cloud Zone (vs valleys to mid-elevations); indusium green flap (vs brown scale-like flap)
