General Information

COMMON NAMES: Long-flower Ixora, Fragrant Ixora

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Madagascar

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Shrub. LEAVES opposite, narrow-oval, 20x7cm, base acute, apex sharp with nipple; petiole 1cm brown. FLOWERS fragrant cluster; corolla tube reddish, slender, 8cm; corolla lobes 4, white tinged pink or red, 10mm, aging brownish.
