General Information

COMMON NAMES: Microlepia Fern, Limpleaf Fern, Lace Fern

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Indonesia - Polynesia; tropical America; n. to Japan.

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Land, mountains (++)

KEY FEATURES: Root creeping, covered in short pale hairs. FROND-STALK to 60cm, dark, with short hairs. FROND-BLADE to 100cm, 3x divided (=tripinnate), branches with short hairs. Leaflets (=pinnules) hairy, toothed. Sori at vein-tips near margin, in cup-like indusium.
