POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Ornamental flowers
NEGATIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Weed - minor and localised. Comments: A persistent weed in a Taro swamp at Betela, Rarotonga. Not known elsewhere, and seeds from Betela plants are not viable [Hinano MacQuarie, 3/2002].
