COMMON NAMES: Super Goldy, Lollypops, Pachytachys; German Gelbe Dickähre; French Panache d'officier

TRADITIONAL NAMES: Tiare Urumanu (MH)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE tropical Americas

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Erect shrub to 1m with showy clusters of yellow bracts. LEAVES narrow-oval, 15cm; FLOWERS erect, terminal, spike, 10cm; bracts, heart-shaped, 3cm, golden-yellow; corolla, white, 5cm long, 2-lipped with 5 lobes.
