General Information

COMMON NAMES: White-striped Pandanus; German Schraubenbaumarten, Schraubenpalmen

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE New Britain Is (PNG)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental leaves

KEY FEATURES: Small tree. LEAVES spirally arranged, straplike, 150x7cm, margin without spines, green with 1-4 central white stripes. FLOWERS and FRUIT unknown. Cv 'Aureus' yellow stripe(s).

SIMILAR SPECIES: Pandanus sanderi golden-yellow central stripes, but with margin finely spined (vs spineless). Pandanus veitchii white stripes on/near margin (vs central), margin finely spined (vs spineless).
