BIODIVERSITY: Locally endangered
POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Medicine, Material (Fibre). Comments: Lau‘ie is an unarmed culitvar used in Samoa for making fine mats (Whistler 84 suggests this may be a cultivar of P. tectorius).
