General Information

COMMON NAMES: Phyllanthus urinaria

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Asia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands

KEY FEATURES: Semi-erect, to 50cm. STEM vestigial leaves spirally arranged. LEAVES alternate, narrow-oblong, to 20x5mm. FLOWERS axillary, separate male and female, sessile (stalk less than 0.5mm); to 2mmØ; petals 6, overlapping, round (on M) to oval (on F). CAPSULE round, 2mmØ. SEED transversely ridged.
