General Information

COMMON NAMES: Narrow-leaved Plantain, English Plantain, Narrow-leaf Plantain, Buckhorn

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Europe - central Asia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Weed - minor

KEY FEATURES: Stemless herb to 40cm, with a tap root. LEAVES a basal rosette, narrow-oval, to 30x4cm, tapering both ends, 3-7 veined; stem to 10cm, winged. FLOWERS in dense cylindrical cluster, to 2cm, on stalk to 40cm; FLOWER small, brown, with protruding white stamens. FRUIT 2-seeded.
