General Information

COMMON NAMES: Broad-leaved Plantain, Common Plantain, Broad-leaf Plantain

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Europe - central Asia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, lowlands - mountains (++++)

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Weed - moderate

KEY FEATURES: Stemless herb to 40cm, with fibrous roots. LEAVES a basal rosette; round to wide-oval, to 30x12cm; tip round, base round, veins 5-9. FLOWERS in a long cylindrical cluster, to 20cm, on a stalkto 20cm; FLOWER small. FRUIT with 4-16 seeds.
