TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); LILIOPSIDA (=Monocotyledones); COMMELINIDAE; Cyperales; CYPERACEAE
GENERAL NOTE: The name Bulrush is probably derived from bole+rush, where bole means "stem" or "trunk", hence "trunked sedge". It is less likely to be derived from the word "bull".
