GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Mascarenes - e.Australia - Malesia - Micronesia - e.Polynesia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Land, lowlands, coastal

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Weed - moderate (gardens only)

KEY FEATURES: Creeping grass to 50cm. LEAVES tapering, to 15x1cm, tip pointed. FLOWERS sunken into cylindrical spike to 2mmØ.

IDENTIFICATION: Creeping perennial to 50cm high. LEAVES tapering, to 15x1cm; tip pointed. FLOWERS spike cylindrical slender to 15cmx2mm; spikelets 2-4 together sunk in cavities, 3-5mm long.
