General Information

COMMON NAMES: Rosy Trumpet-tree, Pink Trumpet-tree, Pink Tecoma

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Mexico - Colombia - n.Venezuela

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands, gardens

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Tree to 25m. LEAF opposite, compound digitate. LEAFLETS 5, oval, to 30x10cm, underside of veins ridged, tip drawn-out and sharp, stalklets swollen near blade. FLOWERS funnel-like, throat pale yellow; face with 5 wrinkled lobes, pink, lilac or white, 8cmØ.

SIMILAR SPECIES: See under Lilac Trumpet-tree (Tabebuia heterophylla).
