Tecomaria capensis (Thunberg)
SYNONYMS: Tecoma capensis
TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ASTERIDAE; Scrophulariales; BIGNONIACEAE
IDENTIFICATION: Erect or scrambling shrub to 2m. LEAVES opposite, to 15cm, compound; LEAFLETS 5-9, glossy dark-green, toothed, wide-oval, to 3cm. FLOWERS clusters; orange to scarlet, or yellow; slender tube, to 5cm; lobes 5, unequal. FRUIT narrow and flat to 15cm, seeds winged (not seen).
