GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE s.Africa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; S.Group (RR - rare); Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: Scrambing shrub. LEAVES oppoiste, to 15cm, compound; LEAFLETS 5-9, glossy, dark green, toothed, wide-oval, to 3cm. FLOWERS clusters, orange, scarlet, or yellow; slender tube to 5cm, lobes 5, unequal.

IDENTIFICATION: Erect or scrambling shrub to 2m. LEAVES opposite, to 15cm, compound; LEAFLETS 5-9, glossy dark-green, toothed, wide-oval, to 3cm. FLOWERS clusters; orange to scarlet, or yellow; slender tube, to 5cm; lobes 5, unequal. FRUIT narrow and flat to 15cm, seeds winged (not seen).
