COMMON NAMES: Black-eyed Susan Vine

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE tropical Africa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: A low vine with striking orange to yellow flowers with a dark purple centre. LEAVES opposite, winged stalk, triangular-oval, 8cm, toothed; FLOWERS solitary, 2cm tube with dark purple throat, flaring into rounded yellow lobes; XXcmØ Various varieties, incl. one with an entirely white flower.
