General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Not naturalised; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Ornamental flowers

KEY FEATURES: A woody, high-climbing vine with clusters of large blue flowers. LEAVES opposite, oval to heart-shaped, 20cm, 3-5-nerved from base, toothed. FLOWERS drooping clusters, 7cm tube with yellowish throat, flaring into 5 blue-violet lobes; 7cmØ 'Alba' has white flowers.
