TAXONOMY: PLANTAE; ANTHOPHYTA (=Angiospermae); MAGNOLIOPSIDA (=Dicotyledones); ASTERIDAE; Scrophulariales; GESNERIACEAE
IDENTIFICATION: Herb to 1m. Stem green marked red. LEAVES heart-shaped, 20x18cm, round teeth, dark above, pale below, red edged; stalk red, 11cm. FLOWERS pale purple, bell-like, hairy outside, 5 round lobes, 5cmØ, dark purple within bell-base.
