General Information

COMMON NAMES: Minute Seahare

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, reef-flat

KEY FEATURES: A small soft-bodied seaslug to 2cm, green with scattered pale speckles sometimes clustered to form distinct pale spots. The parapodial flaps surround an oval shell sac, with a dark-rimmed opening showing the brown shell. The open edge of the oral tentacles are dark-rimmed as the front and hind extemities of the foot. Can release a white slim, and under stress releases a dark purple slim.
