GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Japan - Cooks - Tuamotu - Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Poisonous to eat - serious

KEY FEATURES: Carapace 30x46mm (LxW). Carapace convex, smooth and non-granular; oval, W=1.5xL; anterolateral border with 3 slide notches, and posterior tooth; purple-red with irregular cream areas covered with purple spots. Cheliped palms hairless, smooth with distinct dorsal ridge.
