General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - India - s.Japan - Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: A flaccid anemone, to 15cm diam., with a smooth column and many tentacles - often 400+. The base is weakly adhesive and the animal readily swims by rhythmic beating of its tentacles. Generally pale sienna, with some bluish or purplish markings.
