General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Tuamotu

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: COLONY rounded or lobed, 30cmØ, brown. Valleys usually very short, ??CHECK 2-4mm between ridge-centres, with 1 to 4 very distinct calice centres. Septa around each calice 20-30, run over the walls, have minute spines and perforated with holes, and have small connectors between adjacent septa. Columella sunken into a conspicuous pit. Walls without a midline -MEANING?. Brown or greenish in colour.
