GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: RANGE ? - Micronesia - Samoa - Marquesas

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, ?Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group; ?; Land, lowlands

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Pest

KEY FEATURES: Very small glossy black insect to 5mmBL. COLOUR black, some areas tinged red, sides of thorax and wing-covers edged red. Body smooth, except wing-covers have lines of small pits.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Dactylosternum subquadratum extremely similar, differs in being smaller to 3.5mmBL (vs. 5mmBL), and higher-domed 3.5x1.5mm (vs 5x1mm).
