General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Tahiti

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Gp.01 Unattached circular fungiid coral, ±10cm diam. with a single central mouth. Main septa in nearly equal cycles, with large teath, forming a saw-like edge. Main costa cycles on the underside have tall conical spines, and the alternate cycles are ow with much reduced spines.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Cycloseris vaughani and Fungia concinna. See under Fungia cocinna
