General Information

TRADITIONAL NAMES: Peka ?ID (PK)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Indonesia - Marshalls - Cooks - Tuamotu - Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Carapace 25x32mm (LxW). Yellow with small brown speckles bunched to give a blotchy appearance. Cheliped fingers spooned.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Very similar to Grapsus strigosus, but has straighter lateral margins of carapace, relatively wider front and relatively longer walking legs. Only to be separated by expert comparison!
