General Information

COMMON NAMES: Red Urchin

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, Under rocks on kaoa on Suwarrow

KEY FEATURES: A small red urchin with white baned spines.The test is ovoid, 35mm d. with spines less than test diameter. Periproct is large. (Clark p.331 describes it as black, without any red!!)
