General Information

COMMON NAMES: Horrid Crab, Horrid Parthenopid-Crab

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Indonesia - Japan - Cooks - Tuamotu

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Carapace 80x115mm. Grossly knobly, and encrusted with coralline algae, Lopha oyster and algae. Chelipeds very long and large.
