COMMON NAMES: Tiara-urchin, Pensil Urchin

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Tonga - e.Polynesia; n. to s.Japan

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: To 8cm h.d. TEST dark purple. PRIMARY SPINES widely spaced, large with blunt tips, ± pale bands.
