General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE w.Pacific - Tuamotu - Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Carapace 4x6mm. A very small crab. The carapace is lobulated and covered in rough granules and long yellow hairs. Anterolateral border has 4 spines, each having one or more accessory spines. Male chelipeds unequal, generally covered in granules and long hairs; fingers with hollowed tips. Walking legs rough and covered with long hairs. [mainly after Edmondson 1962]
