GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE ???? - French Polynesia - ???

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Poisonous sting?

KEY FEATURES: A colonial soft-coral with separate anemone-like polyps to 2cm diameter, connected by a encusting basal tissue. Each polyp has a relatively narrow stalk which flares sharply to form the flat oral disc. The oral disc has a central mouth with two bulbous lips and pale knob-like ridges on the rim interspersed with small green tentacles. The disc is uniformly green with a fine circular line about midway to the rim.
