General Information

COMMON NAMES: Fine-ribbed False-limpet

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, intertidal

KEY FEATURES: A simple bowl-shaped shellfish, to 12x8mm and 5mm high. Dark grey with many fine pale radiating lines on fine ridges. A distinct channel on one side. Interior dark with short pale radiating bars near rim.

SIMILAR SPECIES: See under Common False-limpet (Siphonaria normalis).
