TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Lepidoptera; GEOMETRIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Medium moth (14mmTL) bluish green with fine white lines on wings.
Fore wing broad, triangular, leading edge yellowish brown, crossed by 2 distinct white lines and a number of faint transverse marks, also white. Hind wing terminal edge has central spot; fine white lines are continued converging to form a ‘W’ ¾ way along length; few other marks. Underside greenish white. Head, Thorax and Abdomen as wings. Legs and Antennae yellowish brown. Antennae first half feathery, second half threadlike.
GENERAL NOTE: Caterpillar a looper or inchworm (lacking prolegs on abdominal segments 3, 4, 5); polyphagous (feeding on a wide variety of host tree spp; known from Litchi on New Caledonia).
