General Information

COMMON NAMES: Ambonian Anemone-shrimp

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Marshalls - Easter Island

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, SW

KEY FEATURES: A small brown shrimp, with the female being twice the size of the male. Large pale saddle-like spots on the thoxax and abdomen with purple edge and darker blotching within. They characteristically hold their tails almost vertically.
