General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Cooks - Tuamotu - Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Carapace 8x12mm - max. 25mm wide. Carapace grooved and granular, except on posterior section which is relatively smooth. Anterolateral border4 lobes, wht posterior two being blunt-pointed. Chelipeds equal, short and stout; covered with granules; palm with longitudinal furrows; fingers sharp-pointed. Walking legs are granular and sparsely haired. [mainly after Edmondson 1962]
