TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Coleoptera; SCOLYTIDAE. COMMENT: Formerly CURCULIONIDAE (sf. Scolytinae)
GENERAL NOTE: The most common and widespread Xyleborus in the Pacific. There are several of Xyleborus in the Pacific, including several endemics.

Rarotonga: one specimen, Avarua lowland, 12/1979, Krauss, in BPBM, ID A.Samuelson 1978; 8 specimens, Avarua lowland, 10/1979, Avarua lowland, Krauss, in BPBM, ID R.A.Beaver 1991; specimen, location?, 6/2004, Al Samuelson, ID 12/2004 list as Xyloborus perforans. Aitutaki: 3 specimens, 2/1955, E.B.Pearson, ID R.A.Beaver 1991.
